Robert Cook,Jr.

Robert Laird Cook, Jr, 82, of Eagle Lake passed away surrounded by family on December 24, 2020, at Rice Medical Center.  He was born on April 28, 1938 to Robert L. Cook, Sr and Ada Thomas Cook in Lissie, Texas.  He married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Lednicky, on November 6, 1960.  Together they raised three sons and were married for 60 years.

Bob (aka Bob Jr, Bopper, Fossil, and our beloved Papa) was a third generation rice farmer for over 60 years. He served on the Board of Directors of the First National Bank of Eagle Lake.  Through the years he enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, water skiing, snow skiing, playing cards and above all spending time with his family. Bob never met a stranger. He was a friend to all and showed kindness to everyone he met.

He is survived by his wife, Pat, three sons, Robert L. Cook, III and wife Mary Kay of Eagle Lake, Texas; Ronald W. Cook of San Antonio, Texas; and William R. Cook and wife Denise of Eagle Lake, Texas.  Bob and Pat have six grandchildren, Jenna Crosby and husband Justin, Taylor Cook and wife Addie, Cydney Higerd and husband Kyle, Ashley, Carter and Rachel Cook.  They were blessed with 5 greatgrandchildren Carson, Kate and Cooper Crosby; and Quinn and Fair Cook. He is also survived by his sister Karen Beken and husband Arthur Ray of Weimar, Texas; sister-in-law Doris Crenshaw of Katy, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother David and his wife Myrna Cook, and brother-in-law Bob Crenshaw.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 4-8 pm at the Eagle Lake Funeral Home.  A private family funeral will be held.

Pallbearers:  Taylor Cook, Carter Cook, Justin Crosby, Kyle Higerd, Michael Rucka, Michael Grigar, Wayne Bowen, and Wes Cook.
