Shelley Janette Herron Stallman of Garwood, Texas, passed away July 11, 2020 at the age of 91 years old. She was born on May 8, 1929 in San Juan, Texas to Hiram and Lillie Herron. Janette was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lawrence Larry Stallman, and her only sibling, Doris Mae Schroeder, and brother-in-law, Robert Schroeder.

Janette grew up in San Juan, Texas and graduated from PSJA - Pharr, San Juan, and Alamo High School. While working at the Valley Fruit Company, she met her loving husband, Lawrence while he was working for Schumacher in the valley. After their marriage, they moved to Garwood where Lawrence grew up and began rice farming.

Janette was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Surviving children include Marsha and husband, David Young; Dianne and husband, B.J. Chambers and Peggy Bridges. Grandchildren Amy and husband, Colby Nordstrom; Shelley and Joseph Jonietz; Genie and husband, Adam Hopkins; Abbey and her husband, Chandler Martin and 10 great grandchildren.

Janette was very active in the Garwood community and the First Presbyterian Church in Eagle Lake, Texas. Her hobbies included cooking, taking good care of her family, shopping and traveling. Janette, could light up any room with her beautiful smile!!!

Family graveside service will be on Thursday, July 16th, at the Lehrer Cemetery in Garwood,Texas

Arrangements are under the direction of the Eagle Lake Funeral Home.
