Bay City

Elizabeth Moore Maretka, 70 of Bay City, TX formerly of Austin, TX passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021 in Bay City, TX. She was born on August 16, 1951 in Alto, TX to the late Davie and Tillie (Konviska) Moore formerly of Eagle Lake, TX.

Liz retired after 30 plus years of managing her own day care in Austin and then in Bay City, where she finally retired a a few years ago. Liz decided to provide this 12 to 14 hours a day service because  not only did she love taking care children, it gave her an opportunity to stay home and help raise their own two boys. Even today, some of the children that are grown still reach out to her and Gene.

She was a daughter, sister, mother, aunt and a wonderful friend if you allowed her into your life. She loved deeply, and was not shy in letting you know so. She will forever be in our hearts and greatly missed, more than she will ever know.

She was proceeded in death also by her grandparents, sister, Francis Braddock Sepeda, brother, Ernest Gene Moore, son, Christopher Darrell Maretka, nephews, Mingo Sepeda, Jr. and Johnny Braddock, niece Alexis Moore.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Gene Autrey Maretka, and son Michael Wayne Maretka,

brothers, Everett Moore and children, Kolby and Kathryn. James Moore and children, Amy, Kristi, Rusty and Cody. Sister, Janis Hayes (Glenn), son Robert Henske and wife Stacey and children, Haylie and Heidi, and also, her very close and dear friend that she loved so very much, Ms. Elsie Garza.
