Rubin Lee Noska

Rubin Lee Noska, 92, of Alleyton, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024 in Victoria, Texas. He was born in Frelsburg, Texas on June 2, 1932, to William Vince Noska, Sr. and Elenor Zajicek Noska. Rubin worked at Pioneer Concrete of Texas as an equipment operator, and welder before retiring. After retiring he returned to ranching, but his passion was farming.

Rubin was well known by many near, and far for his different varieties of homegrown sweet watermelons raised by the Colorado river. Rubin’s watermelon business was so successful, his father Willie sold Rubin’s watermelons at the roadside park while Rubin sold at the 4 way in Altair, TX. Rubin enjoyed meeting new people passing through from all over Texas. He always explained the process on how he grew those big melons, including checking the bellies of the watermelon to make sure they were yellow.

A few years later his son Troy joined Rubin and started growing his own variety of watermelons. It became a family tradition for many, many years.

 Rubin was preceded in death by his wife, Nira Turner Noska, son, Nathan Noska, his parents, and a grandson Clinton Noska.

Rubin is survived by his loving daughter Danette Noska- Wilson, and husband John of Eagle Lake; son, Troy Noska of Sealy. Brother, Archie Noska of El Campo. Grandchildren; Natalie Oquendo, Shawna Walley, and Christy Noska, as well as numerous great grandchildren, and a few great-great grandchildren.

 Visitation will be 4 until 6 pm Friday, June 21, 2024 at Eagle Lake Funeral Home.

 Funeral service will be at 10 AM Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Eagle Lake Funeral Home Chapel followed by Graveside services at 12 noon at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in Columbus.
