It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Juanita Munoz Vasquez, who entered eternal rest on July 19, 2026. She will be remembered for her strong spirit, unwavering faith, and generosity of heart.

Juanita was born October 22, 1934, in Eagle Lake Texas. She spent her life in the South Texas countryside as a steadfast wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and blessing to those around her. Juanita loved deeply and fiercely, embracing both her family and community alike, always caring for those in her path who needed it most. She was a beautiful joyful friend, sharing her humor and fun-loving spirit wherever she went. Her legacy is the intense way she loved her people, and her wisdom, beauty and grace will remain with all who were lucky enough to know her. Juanita is survived by her children, Charlene Blackwell, Sylvia Lopez, and Arthur Lopez, her 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents Matilde Cardenas and Pedro Munoz, son Bernardino Lopez, and her siblings Pete Munoz, Joseph Garcia, Adelina Cortez, and Mary Sosa.

“You signed our birth certificate; we will sign your death certificate. You chose our first outfit; we will choose your last. You felt our first breath, we will feel your last. We love you mom – Charlene, Sylvia, Arthur”
