John Edward Jimenez age 66 of Houston passed away January 30, 2023 at his residence. He was born April 16, 1956 in Victoria, Texas to the late Norberto Jimenez and Esther Encinas Jimenez Aguirre. John was also known to many friends as John Ed and to family as Eddie. He was married to the love of his life, his Pocahontas, Irene Jimenez for 32 years. He loved to go fishing, enjoyed spending time with his grand kids and wanted to dance whenever he could. Eddie enjoyed traveling with his wife and made it a tradition to visit his favorite state, Arkansas. He loved the people and the scenery there. This man was a very social person. He could make friends very fast and easily. He loved to talk about his Native American Heritage and anything to do with History for hours. Over all as a man he just LOVED his family.
John is survived by his wife, Irene Jimenez of Houston; daughters, Rebecca Zamora of Victoria, Jennifer Jimenez of Victoria, Bianca Jimenez (Erick Hernandez) of Houston, Susan Jimenez of Austin; brothers, Norberto Jimenez, Jr. (Delores) of San Antonio, Daniel Jimenez of Victoria; sisters, Elizabeth Rodriquez (Santiago) of Los Cruces, NM, Debra Wier (Joseph) of New Braunfels; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda Lopez and her husband Ernest Lopez.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 pm on Friday, February 10 at Eagle Lake Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10 am on Saturday, February 11 at Eagle Lake Funeral Home with Pastor Gabriel Sauceda officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Hernandez, Erick Hernandez, Arron Zamora, Elijah Jimenez, Jeremy Brown, Jr. and Richard Garcia, Jr.
