Gabriel Navarro Corona

March 18, 1939 – July 24, 2026

Gabriel Corona, 87, of Eagle Lake, Texas, entered peacefully into the loving arms of our Lord on July 24, 2026.

Born on March 18, 1939, in Seguin, Texas, Gabriel was the beloved son of Valentín and Yrenia Corona. He was welcomed into eternal rest by his cherished parents, his siblings, Guadalupe Cordova, Pauline Lira, and Otelia Palacios, and his beloved son, Gabriel Corona Jr.

Gabriel’s legacy lives on through his loving family: his children, Albert (Leticia) Corona, Irma (Noe) Flores, Irene (Arnold) Moreno, and Darlene Ishee; along with 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

A lifelong resident of Texas, Gabriel was educated in Seguin and became a man of many talents and trades. Throughout his career, he worked as an over-the-road truck driver, highway equipment operator, gravel pit machine operator, and heavy equipment trainer in Anchorage, Alaska. He also dedicated many years to serving his community as a baseball manager in Houston, Texas.

Gabriel was a man of unwavering faith who found great joy in worshipping the Lord every Sunday. He treasured time spent with family, tending to his vegetable garden, playing cards and dominoes, trying his luck at the casino, cheering on his favorite football and baseball teams, visiting with friends, and watching classic Western movies.

Those who knew Gabriel will remember him as a kind, humble, humorous, and generous man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. His warm smile, compassionate heart, and ability to bring laughter into every room will forever be remembered by all who were blessed to know him.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Minister Wesley Cogburn, Dr. Paul Pagley, Katy Hermann Memorial Hospital, and the Colorado County EMS for their compassionate care and support during Gabriel’s final days.
