Dorothy May Hicks Baker was born on August 2, 1930 on a ranch in Jackson County, Texas. She is predeceased by her parents Mabel and John Alvin Hicks, her two younger sisters Ruby and Gladys and her husband of 47 years, Eugene L. Baker.

Dorothy graduated from Ganado High School and later married Gene on January 1, 1948. They began raising their family in Ganado until moving to Eagle Lake in 1963.

Survivors include son Larry Gene Baker (Carolyn) of Magnolia; daughters Diana Brunner of Eagle Lake and Barbara Dickey (Chuck) of Bryan; grandchildren Shanna Callis (Caben) of San Antonio, Jason Brunner (Kelly) of Houston, Matt Baker of Houston, Kathryn Wingfield (Erick) of Memphis, Indiana, Cullen Holderman, Blake Baker (Marissa) of Katy, Peyton Holderman of Hutto and John Dickey of Austin; great-grandchildren Cason Callis of Corpus Christi, Hunter Callis of Corpus Christi, Addy Baker of Katy and Barrett Baker of Katy.

Honorary daughter Judy Hansen Meek of El Campo

Beloved nieces Susan Thomas of Ganado and Phyllis Kowalik of Angleton.

An abundance of nephews, neices and extended family and friends.

To everyone whose path she crossed, Dorothy was a delight - generous, fun-loving, caring and easy to love.

She leaves all who knew her to remember and miss her.
